Angewandte Festival 2022 presented by University of Applied Arts Vienna

June 28–July 1, 2022

The University of Applied Arts Vienna’s Angewandte Festival, held at the end of the academic year, showcases all that has evolved, failed, and succeeded at the university. We will open our buildings and welcome guests to our “castles of air” from June 28 to July 1, 2022. This year’s visual design, created by Graphic Design students, emphasizes what will be seen in the artistic departments’ exhibitions: we question the status quo and develop models for sustainable, peaceful, cooperative, and collaborative futures using artistic, scientific, and transdisciplinary means that straddle the abstract, concrete, pleasurable, and critical.Stefan Diez and his team produced recycled solar panel installations to encourage novel uses of solar energy in public areas for this year’s temporary design for the square at Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz.

A multidisciplinary program will accompany exhibitions at the main university buildings as well as places throughout the city. From June 20, information on the festival will be available online at angewandtefestival.at.
