Open call: Director of Conservation and Research at the MACBA

The MACBA Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona announces a selection process to choose the Director of Conservation and Research.

Reporting to the Museum’s Director and following the established discursive and research focus, the mission of the Director of Conservation and Research is to supervise, plan and draw up jointly and across the board with department heads the contents of Exhibitions, Public Programmes, Education, Collection, Publications, and the Study and Documentation Centre.

The ideal candidate must have extensive professional experience, demonstrable locally and internationally, and be a convincing leader of multilayered transdisciplinary teams. Curricular assessment will consider experience in specialised research in art, theory and institutional critique from the post-war period to the present; his/her/their own publications, curatorial projects, production management and capacity to work with artists and other agents in the museum environment, and experience in innovation or experimentation with exhibition formats.

The period for the presentation of applications is open until June 12, 2022.
