Open call and jury for the 2022 Foundwork Artist Prize

Registration deadline: September 26

The 2022 Foundwork Artist Prize, an annual award and grant program to honor exceptional practices by emerging and mid-career artists, has just opened for international submissions. With a few exceptions, the Prize is available to artists resident anywhere in the globe who produce in any medium. The deadline to register is September 26, 2022.

This year’s winner will also have the opportunity to visit each prominent juror’s studio while receiving an unrestricted grant of $10,000 USD. In order to increase public interest in the honoree’s and the three shortlisted artists’ work, interviews will also be conducted as part of the Foundwork Dialogues program.

The jury for the 2022 Foundwork Artist Prize includes the following dynamic curators, gallerists, and artists: Edgar Arcenaux, Multidisciplinary Artist, Los Angeles; César García-Alvarez, Founding Executive & Artistic Director, The Mistake Room, Los Angeles; Lauren Kelly, Partner and Director, Sean Kelly Gallery, New York; Eva Langret, Director, Frieze London; Javier Peres, Founder, Peres Projects, Berlin, Milan, and Seoul.

Artists should see the FAQ and Prize Rules posted on Foundwork for instructions, terms and conditions. If you have further questions, please email [email protected].

The cost of a Foundwork membership is $4 per month, and it is cancelable at any time. During the selection period, which runs from 5 p.m. PT on September 26, 2022, to 5 p.m. PT on December 31, 2022, artists must register and maintain a published artist profile on the Foundwork website, with at least six artworks and an artist statement published on their profile page.
