We are invited to gather to talk about and practice critical thinking about the current world in ARS22—Gathering. The event is structured around four key topics: gender and identity, decolonial narratives and viewpoints, technology and the digital turn, ecology and more-than-human agencies. These themes are guided by anthropological, artistic, sociological, and philosophical positions. A natural progression from the ARS22—Living Encounters show is the ARS22 Gathering.
The speakers of the seminar include: Christina Sharpe, Mel Y Chen, Achille Mbembe, Slavs and Tatars, Petra Laiti, Pirjo Virtanen, Nitin Sawhney, Agnieszka Kurant and Elizabeth A. Povinelli. For full program, please visit the website.
In order to further our common goal of understanding the social agency of contemporary art, The Gathering brings together contemporary art institutions and organizations from the Helsinki area: EMMA—Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, and Uniarts Helsinki.

The gathering is free of charge, but it is necessary to register. With the confirmation email of your registration, you will get free entrance to the museums on the day(s) of the gathering.
Both days of the gathering will also be livestreamed. The link for this will be uploaded on our website shortly before the event.
