ArtVilnius’26 Announces International Gallery Roster for 17th Edition

The 17th international contemporary art fair, ArtVilnius’26, has officially published its full list of participants, welcoming 70 prominent art galleries representing 13 countries from 1–4 October 2026. Hosted at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre Litexpo—located 15 minutes from Vilnius city centre—the event stands as the largest contemporary art platform across the Baltic States, drawing an estimated 18,000 to 23,000 visitors annually.

This year’s curatorial narrative places special emphasis on the vibrant artistic ecosystems of Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna. By bridging these dynamic cultural centers, the fair aims to stimulate cross-regional collaboration, encourage critical discourse, and expand the global reach of participating artists and institutions.

A Broad European Gallery Selection

The Vienna gallery scene will be highlighted by Christine König Galerie—an established institution presenting conceptual and contemporary works at international platforms for over 40 years—alongside Galerie Sturm & Schober. Warsaw is represented by returning mainstays such as LETO Gallery and Le Guern Gallery, as well as debut showcases from HOS Gallery and Fijewski Gallery, both dedicated to championing contemporary Polish artists.

The international roster also includes new participants such as Galerie 3AP (Düsseldorf), Galleri Lundberg-Sandhagen (Stockholm), Tur (Riga), and Galerija Vartai (Vilnius). They join returning spaces including KOGO Gallery (Estonia), ISSP (Riga), Galerie Nivet-Carzon (Paris), Galleri NB (Viborg), The Room gallery (Vilnius), and OKAPI (Tallinn). In addition, the Vilnius Academy of Arts will host six dedicated gallery spaces, while regional Lithuanian representation extends to galleries from Utena, Molėtai, Trakai, Ukmergė, Šiauliai, and Panevėžys.

This year coincides with the 30th anniversary of the fair’s founding body, the Lithuanian Art Gallerists’ Association, which launched ArtVilnius 17 years ago. Association members taking part include DRIFTS, The Rooster Gallery, Terra Recognita, Meno Niša (all from Vilnius), and Baroti Gallery from Klaipėda.

Project Zone and Institutional Highlights

Curated by Neringa Bumblienė—director of the Nida Art Colony of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and artistic director of the Vilnius Performance Art Biennial—the Project Zone gathers celebrated cultural institutions. Participants include Poland’s Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Galeria Studio (Warsaw), the Viennese collective Gelatin (presented courtesy of Galerie Meyer Kainer), Daugavpils’ Rothko Museum, and the Stasys Museum from Panevėžys.

Featured Lithuanian artists include Deimantas Narkevičius, who represented Lithuania at the 49th Venice Biennale and won the 2008 Vincent van Gogh Award, and Emilija Škarnulytė, winner of the Future Generation Art Prize and Ars Fennica Award, known for major exhibitions at Tate St Ives and Palais de Tokyo.

Sculpture, Performance, Talks, and Public Programs

The fair’s dedicated sculpture, installation, and performance exhibition, The Path (Takas), is curated for the first time by Vienna-based curator and writer Aliaksei Barysionak. The exhibition presents works by 11 artists: Žygimantas Julijus Bėrontas, Rokas Janušonis, Povilas Jatkevičius, Ūla Šukytė, Kasparas Brazovskis, and Vytautas Viržbickas (Lithuania); Anna Mari Liivrand and Bob Bicknell-Knight (Estonia/UK); Anna Egle (Latvia); Mariia Kulykivska (Ukraine); and Katsiaryna Miats (Belarus/Lithuania).

The broader fair itinerary incorporates ArtVilnius Talks, featuring panel discussions with collector Frédéric de Goldschmidt, art advisor Alia Al-Senussi, curator Paco Barragán, and Jemal Inaishvili of the Kvarelli Foundation. Visitors can also attend guided tours led by art historians, engage with educational programming, and visit the Young Collectors’ stand and ArtVilnius+ cultural initiative space. Outstanding artists and galleries will be recognized with fair awards chosen by an international jury and the public.

ArtVilnius’26 is organized by VšĮ ArtVilnius under Director Diana Stomienė and Artistic Director Sonata Baliuckaitė Arlauskienė, financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture under the patronage of Vilnius City Municipality, with legal support from Maecenas Cobalt and General Partner EIKA Group.
