Application deadline: March 31/April 1, 2023

Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts invites applications for its six master degree programs.

Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts offers six master degree programmes: Master of Arts Education (Dutch language programme), Master Performing Public Space, Master of Architecture, Master of Urbanism, Master of Music and Master Choreography (joint-degree with Codarts, Rotterdam).

Master Performing Public Space

The one-year international Master Performing Public Space (PPS) program is meant for artists from a variety of art disciplines who are currently focusing on public space as their artistic environment. This online/on-campus blended learning program investigates public space as a backdrop for artistic expression and study. The fundamental purpose of the curriculum is to teach students how to be independent and critical thinkers while rotating between different roles in the organizational process of their artistic study. This Master provides students with the tools they need to act critically and successfully as artists and scholars. PPS graduates can manage the numerous modes and approaches that surround the current artistic process and product. Application deadline: March 31, 2023.

Master of Architecture & Master of Urbanism

Are you curious about the design of our surrounds and buildings? Do you want to think about design and how to apply it for future generations? Do you have an interest in urbanism and/or architecture? If you want a one-of-a-kind learning experience, one of these four-year, part-time Master programs might be for you. You will be able to connect social, cultural, political, economic, and technological elements through design after completing the course. By combining your studies with work in a professional setting, you will obtain experience and education that goes beyond the academic curriculum. Furthermore, the academy serves as a laboratory for real-world spatial assignments, and the studio is an ideal area to use new skills and approaches to generate design suggestions for challenging spatial problems. Application deadline: April 1, 2023.

Master of Music

Are you musically skilled and aspiring to be a professional artist on an international stage? Then this two-year Master’s degree program might be for you. This study program is absolutely one-of-a-kind. You will be overseen by your main professor, a personal career coach, and a research coach during your study. You will be given a two-year personal budget as a Master of Music student at Fontys. Personal budgets for students in their first and second years of study ranged from 3000 EUR to 4000 EUR per year in prior academic years. You can utilize your budget to tailor the curriculum to your artistic and professional needs. Students may utilize their scholarship to take courses with artists who teach outside of Fontys, even if the artist is based in another nation. Because the school has excellent ties with local music halls and venues, you will have plenty of possibilities to perform in the area. Application deadline: April 1, 2023.
