This fall, students interested in studying architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design at Washington University in St. Louis can attend two virtual open houses hosted by the Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. On November 4 at 11:30 CT and on November 16 at 9 CT, there will be online events. Registration in advance is necessary.

Attendees will hear directly from WashU faculty, take a virtual tour of the studios and buildings, including the LEED Platinum Weil Hall, and discover more about the courses, research, and international opportunities open to graduate students.

The STEM-designated MArch, MLA, and MUD programs of the Sam Fox School, which is a part of a tier-one research institution, put an emphasis on design, environmental ethics, historical and global views, creativity, and technological fluency to prepare students to be leaders in their areas.

“More than ever, Sam Fox School students want to bring design education closer to citizenry—to expand their sense of responsibility and be problem-solvers working in real-world conditions,” says Heather Woofter, Director of the College of Architecture and Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design and Sam and Marilyn Fox Professor.

Graduate students at WashU’s Sam Fox School have the option of earning a joint degree in business administration, computer science, public health, social work, or project management, or a dual degree in two different fields. For advanced students, the MArch program provides both a 3-year and a 2-year curriculum. A MS in Architectural Studies or an MS in Advanced Architectural Design are further options for students.

Full-tuition and partial-tuition scholarships, fellowships, and financial support are available, as well as specialized opportunities for travel and research.

Applications to WashU’s graduate architecture programs are open through January 15. To learn more about the Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design and to register for an upcoming Virtual Open House, visit samfoxschool.wustl.edu.
