Open faculty position at ETH Zurich: Professor of Architecture and Art

The Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned position. The professorship is located at the Institute of Design and Architecture IEA.

The new professor is primarily in charge of the core courses that students take in their first and second semesters of the bachelor’s degree program. She also co-advises other courses in both the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, including the master’s thesis. She or he is expected to impart the fundamentals of art and to actively engage with the variety of conceptual and practical techniques that help pupils cultivate their critical thinking and creative thinking skills. She or he is also expected to suggest and create a cutting-edge research agenda in relation to the advancements, influences, and opportunities of digital media. With relation to master’s thesis supervision, the new professor will collaborate with department chairmen. It is especially crucial to work closely with the current chairs at the Institute of Design and Architecture.

The chosen candidates are remarkable, well-known individuals with a sizable body of work and a core commitment to didactics. They give examples of how their practices and didactical teaching strategies will benefit a multidisciplinary setting. We demand responsible group leadership and a dedication to helping the Department of Architecture grow outside of one’s area of specialization. German or English should be the medium of education.
