empowering individuals to engage in cultural activity. According to international data on cultural participation, the objective of ensuring that everyone and everywhere has access to the arts and culture has not yet been attained. The subject of cultural democracy is being highlighted more than ever, and the pandemic demonstrated how crucial the audience is to giving the cultural offer context. Cultural organizations need to examine how they interact with their communities and reevaluate their place in them in this situation.
Participants in the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Audience Engagement go on a three-month journey to explore the global discussion surrounding cultural participation and learn about the most cutting-edge and creative ways to interact with audiences, including the most recent findings from European projects and global research. The program, which includes eminent guest speakers from all around Europe, offers an introduction to the conceptual framework of cultural engagement as well as a hands-on workshop where participants may test out new approaches and instruments to take an audience-centric approach.
Participants have the opportunity to:
–Develop a deeper understanding of audience-focused policies and cultural participation;
–Get to know a broad range of practices all around Europe;
–Connect to International experts and renowned professionals in the field;
–Learn new methodologies and tools to develop innovative experiences to engage with audiences.
Every other week, from Thursday to Saturday, there are six online learning modules that make up the course. In-person “Audience Experience Design Lab” sessions are part of the program in Lugano (January 19–21, 2023). International students can apply for scholarships to attend the lab.

The University of Music of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, a state-recognized university school associated with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), grants the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Audience Engagement degree .
The MAScult—Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Cultural Management is offered by the University of Music of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (Lugano, Switzerland) with the assistance of Fondazione Fitzcarraldo (Turin, Italy). The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Audience Engagement is a component of this program.
