“Research on the Move,” an event bringing together eight M+ / Design Trust Research Fellows from 2015 to 2019, has been announced by M+ and Design Trust. Through a series of topic-oriented dialogues, research fellows from Hong Kong and abroad will talk with Hong Kong–based practitioners who have been influential in exploring relevant subjects.
Deepening and reconsidering how the “designed” universe came to be requires research. Hypotheses, sites, viewpoints, and evidence change with time, influencing research practice. These discussions will focus on how previous inquiries have influenced the fellows’ current research plans, as well as how they relate to each practitioner’s work. This event intends to encourage future progress in historical and practice-based research, as well as examine the museum’s position in these endeavors, in honor of M+’s recent opening and Design Trust’s sustained support.
