Gingold Theatrical Group (GTG) is bringing George Bernard Shaw’s classic historical adventure comedy, The Devil’s Disciple, back to the New York City stage for the first time in 16 years. Directed by David Staller, who has also penned a new adaptation, the play will run from October 15 to November 23 at Theatre Row.
Set in 1777 New Hampshire, The Devil’s Disciple tells the tale of a determined woman and two confused men navigating the complexities of the American Revolution. In a departure from traditional productions, GTG will present the play with an entirely female cast, offering a fresh perspective on Shaw’s exploration of women’s rights in the era.
The production will feature a talented creative team, including set designer Lindsay Genevieve Fuori, costume designer Tracy Christensen, lighting designer Jamie Roderick, sound designer Julian Evans, and property designer Nicole Rozanski. Casting for the lead roles will be announced at a later date.
