Interlaced, the 2022 edition of the diploma festival, is presented by the Master Contemporary Arts Practice of the Bern Academy of the Arts. We’re delighted to be returning to the Kunsthaus Centre d’art Pasquart and other venues in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The festival will bring together 23 diploma students from the Fine Arts, Sound Arts, Performance Art, and Literary Writing/Translation disciplines.
We kindly invite you to Biel to see our exhibition at Kunsthaus Centre d’art Pasquart, to hear the sound installations and performances in Alte Krone’s stairway and attic, and in La Voirie, and to see our live performances and literary readings at Espace Libre and Le Singe.

The Master Contemporary Arts Practice program at Bern Academy of the Arts is a dynamic two-year multidisciplinary program that focuses on four study areas: Fine Arts, Sound Arts, Literary Writing/Translation, and Performance Art. This is the only course of its kind in Switzerland, drawing on a national and worldwide network. The program’s goal is to cultivate individual artistic positions within a collaborative and multidisciplinary setting. Individual mentoring sessions and group seminars allow students and teaching professionals from various sectors of art to interact.
Master’s students benefit from highly customized mentoring and courses that include both theory and practical challenges in the arts. Study tours and theoretical seminars are examples of joint events, as are presentations of students’ own work for discussion in colloquies and showcasing projects at public events. This Master’s programme, which may only be studied at Bern Academy of the Arts HKB, is supported by superb infrastructure, including artist and recording studios, mechanical workshops, and media libraries.
