Netflix’s critically acclaimed anthology series, Black Mirror, is set to return for its seventh season with a star-studded cast and a highly anticipated sequel to the Emmy-winning episode “USS Callister.”
The cast announcement, released on Thursday, includes a mix of familiar faces from previous seasons and new additions. Returning stars include Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, Jimmi Simpson, Milanka Brooks, and Osy Ikhile, who will reprise their roles in the “USS Callister” sequel.
New additions to the cast include Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Rosy McEwen, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Paul G. Raymond, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Harriet Walter.
Creator Charlie Brooker has been working on the “USS Callister” sequel for several years, and he is excited to bring this continuation to the audience. The episode’s cliffhanger ending made it a natural choice for a sequel, and Brooker has been developing the story with care and attention to detail.
Season seven of Black Mirror will consist of six episodes and is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025. The series will continue to explore themes of technology, society, and human nature in its signature dark and satirical style.
