OFFSCREEN Paris
Installations, still and moving images
October 16–20, 2024
OFFSCREEN Paris returns for its third edition, showcasing avant-garde and experimental image-based artworks from October 16 to 20, 2024, at the Grand Garage Haussmann. This unique event, directed by Artistic Director Julien Frydman, offers a blend of artistic curation and commercial exhibition, featuring solo show presentations from international and French galleries.
Supported by Lombard Odier and the House of Dior, OFFSCREEN has earned acclaim from visitors, professionals, and collectors, making it a highlight of Paris Art Week in October.
Chantal Akerman, a major Belgian director and pioneer of modern cinema, is this year’s guest of honor. Presented by Marian Goodman Gallery, Akerman’s work will be featured alongside an exhibition at the Jeu de Paume, “Chantal Akerman—Travelling.” Akerman’s installations offer viewers a physical experience of time, engaging them deeply with each shot.
The Grand Garage Haussmann, with its iconic Art Deco facade and spiral ramp, provides a dramatic setting for OFFSCREEN. This year marks the final opportunity to explore the eight floors of this brutalist architectural landmark before it closes for renovation. Léonie Alma Mason of LA.M Studio will once again produce the event’s scenography, enhancing the immersive experience.
OFFSCREEN, co-founded by Julien Frydman and Jean-Daniel Compain in 2022, continues to elevate the contemporary art scene with its innovative approach to image-based art.
