The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute is pleased to announce the 2023 edition of its Artists Development Programme (ADP) in collaboration with the Cité internationale des arts (Paris), for which it is looking for one visual artist (born after January 1, 1988) from one of the following EU candidate countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, or Ukraine.

The ADP provides a three-month residency to rising European visual artists at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, allowing them to develop their practice and create a new (body of) work(s), aided by the mentorship of a renowned artist. Tatiana Trouvé, an accomplished Franco-Italian artist, will mentor the awardees in 2023.

Budget and duration
The residence will take conducted in Paris from September 4 to November 27, 2023. The EIB Institute will pay for the artist’s transportation to and from Paris (for the residency). In addition to the aforementioned benefits, the artist will receive a production contribution of 500 EUR (five hundred euro) at the start of the residency and a success fee of 1,000 EUR (one thousand euro) at the completion of the residency, provided that they have completed a work or body of work. Following the stay, the EIB may consider purchasing an artwork created on-site by the artist.

About the EIB Institute
Within the EIB Group (European Investment Bank and European Investment Fund), the EIB Institute was established to promote and support social, artistic, cultural, and intellectual activities with European stakeholders and the general public.

The Artists Development Project is one of its flagship activities (ADP). The ADP provides European visual artists with a residency mentored by a world-renowned artist. It allows artists to expand their practice and work on the creation of an artwork without regard for material limits.

At completion, a sequence of activities mark the conclusion of the residency: an exhibition, the artists’ introduction to suitable public fora, and, in most cases, the EIB’s acquisition of the program’s artworks to increase its contemporary art collection.
