Conditions, a low-cost studio program for artists, is now accepting applications for its 2024–25 cycle. The application deadline is August 14, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

Conditions offers studio space and structured critical conversations to help artists develop their work. The program encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and collective work on exhibitions and events. It provides an alternative to the rising costs of studio space and art education.

Founded in 2018 by artist and educator Matthew Noel-Tod and artist and musician David Panos, Conditions has been developed in collaboration with curator Sara Sassanelli since 2021. The aim is to build a sustainable, independent environment for artists. The program includes talks, support, and workshops from a diverse group of Associates, including artists, writers, musicians, performers, curators, and educators.

Associates who have worked with Conditions since its inception include Rachal Bradley, Alice Channer, Ami Clarke, Paul Clinton, Rebecca Jagoe, Ghislaine Leung, James Lewis, Sophio Medoidze, Jade Montserrat, Harun Morrison, Yuri Pattison, Clunie Reid, Tom Richards, Lou Lou Sainsbury, Benjamin Senior, Eve Stainton, Maija Timonen, and Nikhil Vettukattil. Additional talks and workshops have been hosted by Graeme Arnfield, Joseph Funnell, Mark Leckey, Perwana Nazif, Paul Purgas, Ben Rivers, Louis Schou-Hansen, Tai Shani, Malik Nashad Sharpe, Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura, Tautvydas Urbelis, and Gary Zhexi Zhang.

In 2024–25, Conditions is partnering with Foreign Body Productions to support artist film and video work within the Studio Programme.

1. Studio Programme: Artists receive an individual workspace and engage in group and individual conversations throughout the year. This program is for artists working in all disciplines.

2. Digital Lab Programme: Artists share a workspace and have access to facilities for motion capture, VR, and 3D printing. The program includes 1:1 mentoring with Yuri Pattison and is facilitated by former Conditions artist Durril Weller.

3. Online Programme: Delivered online, this program provides structured conversations and feedback for artists worldwide. It is aimed at artists with an active practice. Mentors for the 2024-25 cycle include Alice Channer, Harun Morrison, James Lewis, Lou Lou Sainsbury, Sara Sassanelli, and Yuri Pattison.
