LYON, France – La Biennale de Lyon has appointed Sabine Longin as its new chief executive, effective June 1, 2024.
Longin will lead the institution, which stages the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art and the Lyon Dance Biennale, two cultural events of national and global standing.
Longin has a long and distinguished career in the arts and culture field. She has served as cultural attaché and cooperation and cultural action adviser to the French Embassy in Qatar, deputy director of the Fondation Giacometti Paris, and most recently, as chief executive of the Musée National Picasso-Paris.
The Board of Trustees of La Biennale de Lyon is confident that Longin’s “vision and leadership will be a major asset for the institution and foster the regional, national and international development of the two events that it stages.”
Under Longin’s leadership, La Biennale de Lyon will develop its international reach and partnership policy. The institution will also extend its regional roots and take further steps to make its events accessible to all audiences.
