September 4–11, 2022
Application deadline: August 19
Beyond prevailing institutions and mainstream discourses, the Vienna Architecture Summer School (VAS²) aspires to offer an open learning environment and a prototype infrastructure for the interchange and negotiation of knowledges in architecture. First-time attendees of the VAS² are invited to interact with young architects and seasoned professionals who are all active in Vienna.
The curriculum is built on a variety of techniques and concepts that will be presented in a variety of settings and media, including design workshops, lectures, theory sessions, conversations, walks, explorations, site visits, and performances. We want to create alternative models and methods for architectural education and design that are equally shaped by the organizers, participants, and visitors.
Participants must be willing to discuss space-related subjects with colleagues, invited visitors, and graduates or dropouts from architecture or other relevant fields in a common workshop format that is supplemented by lectures, outings, and gatherings.

Only with your participation fee are we able to provide you with such a degree of professionalism and independence. Nevertheless, we would be delighted to help you with your travel arrangements.
