A three-year accredited master’s degree (MArch) is offered by the Institute of Architecture (I oA) at the University of Applied Arts Vienna that is focused on experimental and cutting-edge design in architecture and urban activities. The Institute is a part of a world-class applied arts institution that fosters cross-disciplinary dialogue, offers cutting-edge training in the creative and scientific disciplines, and encourages worldwide collaboration.

The University of Applied Arts Vienna is accepting applications for the position of University Professor (m/f/d) of Architectural Design, which will be open as of October 3, 2023, for a fixed term of five years with the potential for an extension.

The available role involves managing one of the I oA’s three design studios. We are searching for a globally famous architect with their own projects and achievements who is particularly focused on forward-thinking, experimental architectural and urban design that responds to the complex socio-cultural, environmental, and technical difficulties that our times are experiencing. The candidate should have a reputation for professional competence and a track record of high quality standards on realized works and projects in the architectural area, in addition to establishing a critical spatial discourse and displaying strong teaching abilities.

A recognized architect with expertise in implementing projects in the building construction industry should be the chosen candidate. It is necessary to have a passion for teaching and research in an international setting, a keen interest in forward-thinking, ground-breaking advancements in architecture and construction, as well as proficiency with and an openness to multidisciplinary collaboration.

A focus on the intelligent use of resources, the possibilities of a new production and material paradigm, and a new architectural repertoire of circular and adaptable building concepts, also by the means of digital technologies, is desirable.
