The Investec Cape Town Art Fair, the largest art fair on the African continent, is set to host its eleventh edition from February 16–18, 2024.
This prestigious event showcases cutting-edge contemporary art and serves as a platform for galleries, collectors, curators, artists, and art enthusiasts from around the world to engage in cultural and economic exchange.
The 2024 edition of the fair will feature five core sections: Main Section, ALT, Editions, Magazines & Publications, and Connect. Additionally, there will be three curated sections: Tomorrows/Today, SOLO, and Generations. These sections will be influenced by a new theme: Unbound.
The theme, Unbound, poses questions about the nature of art and its ability to liberate the mind. The eleventh edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair aims to explore the boundless imagination and limitless potential of art to inspire and challenge. It will provide a platform for art that provokes the imagination and breaks away from traditional storytelling and social expectations.
The fair has appointed the following curators: Mariella Franzoni (Barcelona, Spain) for the Tomorrows/Today section, Sean O’Toole (Cape Town, South Africa) for the SOLO section, and Natasha Becker (San Francisco, United States) and Amogelang Maledu (Cape Town, South Africa) for the Generations section.
Applications are now open for the Main Section, ALT, and Editions, as well as for the three curated sections Tomorrows/Today, SOLO, and Generations. The deadline for applications is September 22.
The Investec Cape Town Art Fair is a unique opportunity for the fast-growing African art market to meet with the international art world. It offers an intimate experience of one of the world’s most unique art capitals.
