Call for applications 2022: online certificate in Documentary Practice presented by International Center of Photography

Application deadline: November 1

We’d like to introduce you to the ICP’s One-Year Certificate program in Documentary Practice: Visual Storytelling Online, a virtual and immersive year of study that may be finished entirely online.

Students can study at ICP from anywhere in the world for a whole year thanks to this newly designed online curriculum. This demanding curriculum, which has been especially tailored for the online setting, will include two semesters of courses with one semester of autonomous fieldwork.

Students will be urged to consider their experiences from both a local and global perspective. In a supportive learning environment, the student-centered curriculum places a strong emphasis on in-class debates and criticisms. The study of the development of new and difficult technical abilities in still photography and multimedia, along with the exploration of the history of visual storytelling, will teach students how to publish their work and help them produce lengthy documentaries that explore the human condition.

The program’s faculty, which includes some of the top practitioners in the industry right now, will work with and mentor students. Students will create their own distinctive visual language under the guidance of this group of well-known photographers and editors while working within a community of other documentarians.

The show has a calendar-year cycle that spans from January 27 to December.

The ICP’s One-Year Certificate in Documentary Practice: Visual Storytelling Online is now accepting applications. A small number of applicants are eligible for scholarships and fellowships. November 1 is the priority application deadline.
