The United States Institute of Peace and The VII Foundation present “Imagine: Reflections on Peace”

June 2nd – August 1st, 2022

“Imagine: Reflections on Peace” is a multimedia exhibition that explores the themes and difficulties of peacebuilding through an immersive look at societies that have experienced — and survived — violent conflict. It is presented by The United States Institute of Peace and their partner, The VII Foundation. The “Imagine” exhibition confronts viewers with the facts of violent wars using historical images, documents, video profiles, and interactive elements while posing the query: “Why is it so difficult to achieve a good peace when it is so easy to imagine?”

This in-person event, created and developed by the VII Foundation, will be held at the USIP headquarters in Washington, D.C. Visitors have the opportunity to interact with the Institute’s peacebuilding efforts on the ground and learn about concrete steps they can take to promote peace on their own.

The public can visit the exhibit Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00am to 4:00pm from June 2 through August 1. Tickets must be reserved in advance; admission is free.

Exhibition includes the work of VII Photo Agency photographers: Alexandra Boulat, Eric Bouvet, Ziyah Gafic, Ron Haviv, Gary Knight, Christopher Morris, Seamus Murphy, Maciek Nabrdalik, Franco Pagetti, Espen Rasmussen, Daniel Schwartz, and Nichole Sobecki.
